Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has resumed its interstate bus services from June 17. At present, buses from Andhra Pradesh are plying only to Karnataka and Odisha based on the states’ mutual decision. Soon the APSRTC online bus services are also expected to start between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and the decision on the same would be declared on Wednesday. APSRTC is planning to start 256 bus services on this route.

While the APSRTC buses to Karnataka started on June 17, the same started for Odisha from June 18. Currently, only a limited number of buses are running between the states, and one can go for APSRTC online ticket booking for these buses. However, there are plans to increase the number of buses based on the demand for APSRTC bus booking. APSRTC has started 168 services to Karnataka. On the other hand, 7 bus services that started for Odisha are looking for alternative routes due to Challan’s issues.

The intrastate bus services by APSRTC had already started from May 21. Passengers are moving from one city to another through APSRTC online booking within the state. APSRTC tickets booking is also available through the redBus website and app.

As per the Karnataka State Government orders, all the passengers from Andhra Pradesh going to Karnataka are required to register themselves on Seva Sindhu Portal of Karnataka Govt. Before booking an APSRTC bus, you should also choose the mode of transportation as a ‘bus’ on the Seva Sindhu portal. Passengers need to show the proof of self-registration at the Karnataka border while boarding the bus. Lack of proof may result in deboarding. Furthermore, passengers must carry their Aadhaar Card while traveling to Karnataka.

APSRTC is taking all the necessary preventive measures in order to stop the spread of novel Coronavirus and sanitizing buses and bus stations to ensure a safe journey for passengers. In addition to this, the following measures are being taken by APSRTC:

  1. Curtains are removed from all AC buses.
  2. No blankets or linen would be provided to ensure good hygiene.
  3. The temperature would be maintained between 24 and 25 degrees centigrade in all the AC buses.
  4. Basics like sanitizer and masks will be kept on all the buses.
  5. Buses will go through the disinfection process after each journey.
  6. Thermal scanners will be kept for all the passengers to check the temperature while boarding the bus.

Passengers willing to travel to Karnataka, Odisha, or Telangana can check APSRTC bus timings and go for APSRTC online ticket booking in advance through the redBus website app. One the passengers book APSRTC bus tickets online, the details like APSRTC bus timing, boarding and drop-off point, emergency contact number, etc. will be sent to their respective mobile number and email id.

Have a safe and peaceful journey with redBus!
